Take County BB East off of Hwy 14 at the North end of Viroqua to Railroad Ave. Turn left and go to Cherry Grove Rd (the big grain dryers are at that corner), Turn right and take Cherry Grove to Orchard Rd. Turn right. The first road to the left is Apple lane. Take that to the end and follow the driveway to the right. Paul's place is at the very end. Start at 9:00.

Moving indoors now. This week we will try painting at the Maplewood Terrace in Viroqua (620 Garfield). Turn west on Maple St off of Main St at the south end of town. Garfield is two blocks. Turn right. Maplewood is on the left. Drive through the parking lot to the far end and use the furthest entry doors. The space is just inside the doors. Carla's daughter Adley will be our model.

Saturday October 10th the Plein Air Painters of Vernon County and Oil Painters of America will be joining up for a paintout at Vernon Vineyards. We'll be painting in Harmony Valley this week-it's a bird sanctuary--beautiful marsh, the river, rolling hills. Take Hwy 56 west out of Viroqua---drive 8 miles--- take a right on county O, drive across the ridge --dip down into a deep valley--at the bottom of the hill, just past the bridge, take a left onto Newton Valley road. Wind around approx 3 miles until you get to a big metal--Harmony Township building. There's a Y there--STAY left -- drive approx 2 miles---a white house on the left----white shed ----the house is set back a little from the road. It might be our last week outside till spring.

We've been invited this week to paint at the Glick farm. Their corn is shocked and gets nice morning light. Plenty more to paint if that doesn't entice you. Please be respectful with your camera as this is an Amish farm. They would love to see our paintings, but please don't paint or photograph them. To get to the farm from Viroqua, take 27/82 south towards Prairie DuChien. A few miles past Liberty Pole Gardner Rd goes off to the right. Take Gardner and theirs is the third place on the left. Go past their drive and park on the road. We can walk in to the field with the shocked corn. It should be chilly, but the best light is early.

Another beautiful setting in southwest Wisconsin. Dog Hollow Farm is on the corner of Rush Creek Rd and Dog Hollow Rd just into Crawford County. The easiest directions from either the North or South is to take Hwy 27 (from either direction) to Rising Sun. Turn west on County B and take that to Dog Hollow Rd. You'll see the farm on the right at Rush Creek Rd. The driveway is on Rush Creek. Meet at 8:30 or 9:00.
